Have a Policy Question? Let’s Connect
Talk to an independent, Texas-licensed life insurance broker
You don’t need to fill out twelve forms or sit through a sales pitch to ask a real life-insurance question. Send a note below and Richard Parslow — a Texas-licensed independent broker, not a captive agent — will reply personally, usually within one business day.
What you can ask about
- Quotes you’ve already received. Send a screenshot or PDF and we’ll explain rate class assumptions, riders, and whether the number is realistic for your health profile.
- Coverage strategy. Term laddering, whole life vs. IUL, no-exam options, hybrid living-benefit policies, coverage for business owners, and life insurance after a VA disability rating.
- Policies you already own. In-force illustration reviews, 1035 exchange questions, and what to do when a universal life policy’s premium notice spikes.
- Underwriting prep. What carriers look at, what the MIB report contains, and how different insurers may review specific conditions (sleep apnea, ADHD medication, prior DUI, depression, type 2 diabetes, etc.).
What we won’t do
- Sell your contact information. Period. We are a single-agent practice; your details stay between you and Richard.
- Pressure you into a particular policy type. If term is the right answer, we’ll say so — even when whole life or IUL would pay a higher commission.
- Quote you a “best case” rate to get the conversation started. Every quote we send reflects the actual rate class we expect after underwriting.
How we get paid
Life Policy Pilot is an independent brokerage. When a policy is placed, the insurance carrier pays Richard a commission built into the premium you’d pay anywhere else — you don’t pay us directly, and the premium isn’t higher because you worked with a broker. We disclose commission ranges in writing before any application is submitted.

CONSUMER-FIRST BROKER
As your independent broker, I focus on your stated needs and compare available carrier options. I am not a fiduciary, and insurers control product availability, underwriting, and policy terms. This is the first step in a pre-underwriting review designed to help you make an informed coverage decision.
About the author — Richard Parslow. Richard is the founder of Life Policy Pilot and a Texas-licensed independent life insurance agent (Texas Life Agent License 3076729; General Lines License 3090432; NPN 20873424; verify credentials at the TDI Agent Lookup). As an independent broker, Richard compares available options across the current carrier panel and is compensated by the insurer when a policy is placed — never by the household applying for coverage.
What this site is — and isn’t. Every guide on Life Policy Pilot is consumer education written or reviewed by a licensed agent. It is not personalized financial, legal, or tax advice, and Richard is not a fiduciary; insurance brokers in Texas are legally not fiduciaries. Illustrations for whole life, IUL, and hybrid products are non-guaranteed and subject to carrier underwriting decisions.
