1. Personalized Needs Analysis
We review your mortgage, goals, and expenses to find the right fit for your family. No one-size-fits-all.
2. Health Class Estimation & Pre-Underwriting
Sticker shock from higher costs after a medical exam is common. Our Health Class Estimator uses your health data to give accurate quotes from the start.
3. Market Navigation (Brokerage)
We search the entire market to find a policy that matches your health and budget.
Understanding your goals is essential before building your policy.
We have an in-depth conversation to prevent surprises later. Identifying Your Mission Profile (The “Why”). Every policy has a purpose. We start by finding out exactly what you want to protect. Here are some common reasons:
In insurance, your health is a key factor. We do a pre-underwriting interview, looking at what insurers will check, such as:
Biometrics & Basics means basic measurements like height, weight, and recent weight changes. These measurements are used to determine your “Build Category,” which is an insurance industry term for your body type rating. Your Build Category affects your health classification and the cost of your policy.
Prescription History: We review your current medications. Insurance carriers often use what are called “pharmacy reports”—these are records from pharmacies about your medicine history—to verify your health status.
Family Medical History: Early-onset heart disease or cancer in close relatives can affect your pricing tier.
Specialized History: Unique backgrounds, such as VA disability ratings, can affect private insurance. We discuss their impact.
Your health is one piece. Insurers also consider lifestyle and risk factors:
Occupational Risk: Does your job involve high-risk environments like aviation, heavy machinery, or hazardous materials?
High-Risk Hobbies: If you enjoy activities like scuba diving, flying, or rock climbing, we look for insurance companies with a higher tolerance for these activities. Driving & Criminal Record: Recent DUIs (driving under the influence, a serious traffic violation involving alcohol or drugs) or major moving violations may disqualify you from “Flight Clearance” status, our standard for participation.
A policy only helps if you can afford it. We ensure your premium fits your budget.
Term vs. Permanent: We weigh the cost savings of a fixed-term policy (coverage that lasts for a set number of years) against the lifelong security of a permanent one (coverage that lasts your entire life).
Laddering Strategies: If your budget is limited but your needs are big, we can talk about “laddering.” This means buying several policies of different lengths, so you have the most coverage when you need it most. For example, combining a 10-year and 20-year policy to match your changing needs over time.
By the end of our introductory analysis, you’ll have a clear, data-based estimate of your likely insurance health category and a straightforward look at which insurance companies are most likely to approve you at a price that works for you. After you receive your estimate, we will discuss your best-fit options together and outline the next steps based on your preferences. You will know exactly what information or documents are needed, what to expect in the application process, and how we will support you as you move forward. This way, you can proceed confidently and without surprises.

After we search the market and speak with top insurance companies on your behalf.
While you go about your day, I find insurers that match your needs.
Every insurance company has its own “Underwriting Guidelines.” These are the rules it uses to decide who it will cover and at what price.
Specialty Scan: If a managed health condition exists, I shop for insurers known for leniency toward those conditions rather than large, generic companies.
We only work with companies that are financially strong enough to fulfill long-term commitments.
I only consider companies rated at least A- (Excellent) by agencies like A.M. Best or S&P. Your family deserves strong, reliable coverage. ratings show how reliable and financially sound. As an independent broker, I work for you, comparing options using professional tools. As an independent broker, I don’t work for just one insurance company. I work for you. I use professional tools to compare:
Included “Riders”: I look for policies that include extra features called “Living Benefits” (also known as Accelerated Death Benefits). These features let you access part of your life insurance payout while you are still alive if you’re diagnosed with a terminal or chronic illness, usually without paying extra.
Conversion Options: If you’re buying a Term policy (coverage for a limited period of time), I can check if you can later switch it to a Permanent policy (coverage that lasts your whole life) without another medical exam.
I sort through products and show you only the best 3 options. I explain each so you can make a confident decision.
Insurance applications can be detailed, but we ensure the process runs smoothly.
Attending Physician Statements (APS): If the insurance company needs more details from your doctor, we manage the request process. APS means a report from your personal doctor with more information about your medical history. We follow up with medical offices to ensure your records don’t sit on a desk for weeks.
Getting approved is a big step, but we make sure your policy is active, clear, and matches your goals.
This phase ensures everything is settled—we move from “what if” to “it’s done.”
Once your policy is issued, we meet with you online or by phone for a final review. We go through the document together to ensure everything is correct.
A policy isn’t “In Force” until you pay the first premium and sign the delivery forms.
